Dial by profile
January 6, 2008 – 3:41 pmWith the number of options to dial() growing by leaps and bounds, I would like to be able to configure a few dial profiles in a configuration file, dial.conf, and use these for dialling. Example:
[sip-outbound] macro=dumptest timeout=20 absolutetimeout=360 musicclass=abba transfer=caller hangup=none
I think this would make it easier to handle the dialplan. What do you think?

This is a great idea. Absolutely useful as the number of options is getting larger and larger.

Also, if we could specify options like codes or even protocol specific parameters it would be excellent.
